Development Applications
A Development Application (DA) is essentially a formal request for permission to carry out certain development. This is one of the most important aspects in developing a target property to be considered prior to its development and needs confirmation whether it will be approved or refused if it fails to comply with 1 of the relevant controls.
Once the application is approved, you will get a Development Approval which is a legal document that allows you to undertake a development. Development Approvals specify the design and other documents that the development must follow – i.e plans for the location and design of the buildings and the structural details for the building such as the depth of footings.
This is somewhat more of a process in submitting a development application and may be time-consuming at some point. But if you follow the procedure in a methodical manner, you will be able to successfully go through it.
We do listen to your feedback and we know that this does really matter in your property search and in realising the development of your target property.
Why worry? No need to use another app to get this information. We do have that now in Stash to provide you with a one-stop shop. This is to make your property search more exciting and more information-rich.
How to check Development Applications inside Stash

Simply click on your target property or any property inside Stash.
Once done, you will see the property details on the left-hand side of the Stash page.
Click on the Development Applications and it will show you all known applications in the area within 2 km. radius.
4. You may now view the Development Applications within the area depending on the number of months you select on our dropdown menu function. Current options you may choose from our DAs are for the past 6, 12, or 24 months. If your selected property has an existing DA, it will appear as the first result on the list.
5. Once you click any of the Development Applications, it will route you directly to the local council where the information was taken from.
Having this added inside Stash has never been this exciting as we’re looking forward to our users having the most out of Stash.
Why is it necessary to know the recent development applications?
The development application will show you what the council has approved eg: either townhouses or land subdivisions so this will show you what feasibility to use, it will also show you if the DA may be approved for something that isn’t usable like high-rise apartments or high-rise office building.
You'll be able to see what are the types of developments that you can do in your selected property, see the documents submitted, and how your application can be approved in just one click in Stash.
Isn’t that amazing and exciting to check this feature out? Start exploring this now on your own Stash Property application and get a hold of our other newly released features.
