What do the purple highlights on the map mean?

Are you wondering what the purple lines/highlights mean in the map? 

The purple highlights on the map are easements. An easement is a section of land registered on your property title, which gives someone the right to use the land for a specific purpose even though they are not the landowner. So, having the right of way to pass through a neighbor’s land to get to yours is perhaps the most common example of an easement.
