Check out this quick video tutorial about contours here:

Are you familiar with contour lines? Have you heard about it and what it really is? In the property world, a contour is an outline of a mass of land. Contour lines are critical when it comes to deciding a particular property to be developed and serves as a requirement. The location itself must be considered and its elevation as this is part of the planning and development aspect in developing a certain property. In this way, you can determine if the property is located in a cliff, a flat area, steep, or does have slopes. You can also do some modifications needed, if necessary. Reviewing this is very helpful especially to those countless professions who use them like the land surveyors, foresters, engineers, miners, geologists, hunters, to name a few.

The long wait is over! Because we want our users to get more of what they’ve paid for and get the best experience out of Stash, we have now added the Contour mapping tool to make your property search worthwhile. This is just one of the few feature advancements we have enlisted for our users that you’ve been waiting for. We do listen to them because we know that your feedback does really matter. So, let’s go ahead and check this out.

Steps on How To View Contours in Stash Property

To view contours in Stash, just simply follow the steps below:

  1. Select the property that you wanted to check its contours

  1. Click on the Contour mapping tool on the upper right-hand corner of the Stash page and change the view from Satellite to Map view.

Note: Contours are easily viewed in Map view.

You will see the contours available in the area depending on the Suburb searched. This is really a great feature added in the Stash Property page that allows not just the users but also property developers to realise if the property they are interested in is good to be developed or needs to do further planning in realising the property.

What’s in it for me?

  • The Contour mapping tool will give you a general idea of the different properties’ landscapes. It will tell you if it’s flat or mountainous and tells you the elevation of the property above sea level.

  • Through its contour line formations, it will help you interpret topographic maps quickly, and recognise the various terrain features they represent on the map.
